Omar Inayat’s ‘Tenu Le Ke Jana’ makes it to Bollywood
Omar Inayat’s debut track ‘Tenu Le Ke Jana’ (also called ‘You’ve Got Something’) has made it to a Bollywood flick titled Jai Veeru, which is a carbon copy of Adam Sandler’s film Bulletproof.
The first track off his debut album, Be The One, ‘Tenu Le Ke Jana’ was undoubtedly a blockbuster and one has been hearing it again and again for four years.
Though a lawyer by profession, Omar Inayat is known for bringing something new to the ears of Pakistani listeners- ‘Tenu Le Ke Jana’ is not your everyday Paki pop track and neither does it have smashing guitar riffs like that of Ali Azmat or Noori. ‘Tenu Le Ke Jana’ has a sound of its own- it’s pop mixed with hip-hop and funky tunes with Omar’s captivating voice. And now this track can be heard in Jai Veeru, which stars Fardeen Khan, Kunal Khemu, Arbaaz Khan, Dia Mirza and Anjana Sukhani.
A remixed version of ‘Tenu Le Ke Jana’ plays as the movie drags (which by the way is a flop) but the remix is far from appealing – it’s a version of the same song mixed with background music that doesn’t apply to the tune and makes the ears bleed. The original song is far more catchy and the remix just kills the idea of what ‘Tene Le Ke Jana’ is about- a hip-hop track turned into a dance number from Mars is exactly how it has been remixed. But thumbs up to the lawyer turned singer, ‘Tenu Le Ke Jana’ is just as popular in India as it is here.
