She refused to comment on the lack of publicity on part of the channel for Sangam. “They are better equipped to take a decision on these things.  More than anything I will miss the entire unit of Sangam. We all had a blast working on this Fox project for the last 2 years”, avers she.

Jennifer feels that the best part of Sangam was its simple story. “Many small town girls could identify with Ganga. We did not have unnecessary drama, yes there were twists and turns, but those were an essential part of the narrative”. At the end of it, the actress is glad that the show always had its own fair share of loyal viewers.

After Sangam, the girl now wants to take a breather. “I have been working non stop for five years now, with Kasauti first and then Sangam. But in the future if something interesting comes along, especially in the comedy genre, I would be ready to grab it”, states Jennifer.

After giving our readers first hand information on Star Plus’ Sangam going off air, Telly Buzz now gives you exclusive news of Shakuntalam Telefilms’ Santaan on Star Plus going off air very soon!!

According to our source, “The show has had its good run, and was the slot’s highest TRP getter for nearly a year or so. The unit was informed of this decision only today, and as they say all good things need to come to a logical end and Santaan will also see a typical happy ending”.

“The show will go off air in the last week of March”, confirms our source.

An actor on terms of anonymity confirmed this news saying, “Yes, it is true that Santaan is winding up. We have been intimated today”.

Santaan has a good ensemble cast of Diwakar Pundir, Samraagi, Sudeep Sahir, Mitika Sharma, Gaurav Khanna, Daljit Kaur, Manish Naggdev and others..

We tried calling as well as messaging Producer Shyamashis Bhattacharya of Shakuntalam Telefilms, but we did not get a reply from him till the time we filed the story.

Our attempts to get a reply from Keertan Adhyantaya, GM and EVP, Star Plus were also in vain, as he did not respond.

Now, let’s see which Star Plus show is lined up for an exit next!!

The show had taken an eight year leap few weeks back, and was on road to a fresh story with few new characters introduced. However, there seems to be a setback to the plans, as the latest development is that Sangam will go off air very soon!

A very reliable source told us that, “There have been talks going on about Sangam wrapping up. We got to know of this on Saturday, and the actors have also been informed of this. However, the decision was taken today, and the channel wants to end the show in the first week of March”.

“Sangam has been in the ‘Hit List’ for sure. But our TRP’s have raised post the leap that was taken few weeks back. We have a good storyline coming but we don’t know why, without any reason the channel is trying to close our show down. We now need to revise the story and end it accordingly”, verbalizes our source.

The cast of the show includes Chaitanya Chaudhury, Jennifer Winget, Khushi Dubey…

We tried calling and texting Keertan Adhyantaya, GM and EVP, Star Plus for a confirmation, but we did not get any response from him.

Well, this is a sad news for fans of Sangam!!

The show which took a leap of eight years recently will have Khushi playing the daughter of Saagar aka Chaitanya Choudhury and Kaveri.

“I play Bebo, a very bubbly character who is the boss of everyone in school. It’s always nice to play good roles, and am enjoying being part of the show”, quips the little girl Khushi.

According to our source, “Bebo’s character will be similar to Anjali aka Sana Saeed in the movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, where she will take up the mission of uniting Saagar and Ganga. Ganga will be the school teacher of Bebo as in the movie”.

“Also, Lavina Tandon will soon enter and she will play Gudiya”, concludes our source.
