Ali Noor complains about the electricity breakdowns

Ali NoorThe extremely frequent electricity breakdowns have been taking their toll on Pakistanis – it has become quite impossible to function when the power goes off almost every other hour. And noone has it any better.

Musician Ali Noor recently complained on his blog in a post titled ‘AAARRRGGHHHH!!!!!!!’ – just the title seems to echo our sentiments perfectly! Ali Noor writes, “Ok I’ve totally lost my patience!!! I refuse to make an album for a country that does not even allow me two hours of constant electricity so that I can at least charge my laptop!!! Kaise kaam karoonn!!!”

Obviously, artistes are not exempt from the constant power cuts. Though at this stage one can’t help but wonder if it would make any difference if any music were produced – we’ll still need electricity to power our televisions and charge our portable music players.

On the other hand, a few months ago Ali Zafar wrote on his blog about childhood memories of watching cartoons and the limited amount of time they’d be run for on the one TV channel there was back then, saying, “And now we have full channels dedicated to cartoons, but no power.”
